DWTS Season 23 Cast Announced!

I’m back! I hope you all had a lovely summer, I have been busier than normal.

Today was a big announcement day in the Dancing with the Stars world: The season 23 cast was announced!

Unlike cast announcements in the past, it wasn’t a large production on Good Morning America. I’m not sure why, but it felt a little “off”. Here are the videos from this morning:

Here’s a nice clip from Entertainment Tonight, giving us a visual of all of the couples:

Here are the GMA tweets from this morning:

Season 23 Surprises (for me):
– The Return of Some Pros: I think these returns were the biggest surprise for me. First, it was Gleb’s return announced. It seemed like it was the next day that Maks was announced (a fantastic surprise)! Yesterday (or the day before), Derek was confirmed. And this morning, Cheryl! Oh, Allison and Emma are also back after a single-season break.
– The “Time Off” of Some Pros: I will miss seeing Tony, Keo, and Mark 😦 And Peta is very pregnant, so her absence is understandable. Kym Johnson also announced that she’s basically done with the show.
– Ryan Lochte: With making news headlines recently, I’m kind of surprised he came on the show. I have seen people comment that they are not going to watch the show because of him. I disagree with that “logic” (perhaps because I watch the show for the dancing and not the celebrities) … just don’t vote for him.
– Terra Jolé: I actually watch her show (very entertaining) and I was surprised and happy to finally see a little person on the show.

DWTS Season 22 Quarterfinals Recap, Week 9

Tonight’s Dancing with the Stars were the quarterfinals. The last 5 couples will dance twice, one being a trio dance where the celebrity is joined by abohter professional dancer.

The opening number was short and simple, introducing the contestants and even had a little dancing with the five of them and their partners. They were each given a nickname: Paige, “The Fighter”; Antonio, “The Underdog”; Ginger, “The Perfectionist”; Nyle, “The Leading Man”; Wanya, “The Entertainer.”

The Famous Dances night was interesting. We had some nice, entertaining dances and some that were okay to me. The nice thing is that the costumes were perfectly themed.

DWTS Season 22 Switch-Up Recap, Week 5

At first I was unsure about Switch-Up Week when it first started in Dancing with the Stars’ 18th season. But I think it’s proven to be not only entertaining (producing incredible performances like my favorite Switch-Up dance to date) but also eye-opening and revealing with the couples’ student/teacher relationship.

I LOVED the opening number! So nice to see the whole cast involved and not just the pros.

Like Switch-Ups in the past, we were given an opportunity to vote on our choices. I’ll include my choice for each celebrity and see how I did!

Disney Night of Dancing with the Stars brought a lot of Disney magic to the ballroom with beautiful costumes and sets to really tell the stories. There were actually had quite a few that caught my attention … so many that I don’t think I can really rank them! This week, I’ll change it up and go in the order of the show airing.
