Tonight’s Dancing with the Stars were the quarterfinals. The last 5 couples will dance twice, one being a trio dance where the celebrity is joined by abohter professional dancer.

The opening number was short and simple, introducing the contestants and even had a little dancing with the five of them and their partners. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with jazz routines, but what draws me to the show are the partner dances. There have been some wonderful routines (like these 1 2 3 4), but I think even going back to the themes of the past (Rock, Classical, Guilty Pleasure Weeks were all fun). We’ll see, maybe I’ll change my mind on this week …

I enjoyed the opening number. I liked the classic stage choreography, costumes, and seemingly a nod to the the Golden Age of Hollywood musicals with a modern twist.
