DWTS Countdown – 27 Days! – Spotlight on Sharna Burgess

Name: Sharna Burgess

Known for: winking at the camera, bringing the sass, now the only brunette pro on the show

Pre-DWTS History: Sharna began dancing at the age of 5 in her home country of Australia. She began training in ballroom at age 8 and began competing, winning many local and national titles.  When she was 15, she was chosen to represent Australia at the World Championships and later performed in the closing ceremony for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.  At 18, she moved to London to pursue dance further and competing.  She started dancing in Strictly Ballroom and joined Burn the Floor, where she remained with the cast for 6 years.  Her first television appearances were with Dancing with the Stars in Australia and So You Think You Can Dance (Belgium & Netherlands).

DWTS History: Sharna joined the cast as a member of the troupe in season 13, where she remained part of the troupe until the end of season 15.  She began her run as a pro in season 16. Her first celebrity partner was comedian Andy Dick.  Sharna has provided choreography for some show bumpers as well, my favorite being this one.

Past DWTS Partners:

Season 16 – Andy Dick – 7th place

Season 17 – Keyshawn Johnson – 12th place

Season 18 – Charlie White – 5th place

Season 19 – Tavis Smiley – 12th place

Best-Scored Performances: Here are a few videos of Sharna’s best-scored performances on the show, all with Olympian Charlie White!

This quickstep with Charlie White earned Sharna her first perfect score on the show!

I really enjoyed this foxtrot as well, it earned another perfect score:

And who could forget this Mary Poppins-themed jazz routine? So fun! (From the finale”
